Alligator is a freshwater reptile. Alligator red meat comes from the legs and body. This boneless red meat has a gamier yet delicious taste and is low in fat and high in protein. The majority of alligators come from freshwater in the southeast United States with Louisiana having the largest alligator population in the United States.
