Whole Dungeness crab has slightly firmer meat than its other crab counterparts. Its meat is mild and boasts a sweet flavor with a slight nutty taste. Dungeness crab season runs from late November/early December until around July. Most of the United States Dungeness crab comes from the Pacific Northwest.
